Our Rec Baseball Program
Welcome to the Ballston Spa Junior Baseball League! We are a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a fun and positive baseball experience for players ages 7 to 18 throughout Malta, Milton, Ballston Spa, and Rock City Falls. Chartered through Babe Ruth, we are committed to promoting the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Our league is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and a staff who are passionate about helping young athletes develop their skills and love for the game. Whether you're new to baseball or a seasoned pro, we have a place for you on one of our teams.

Spring Baseball
Our primary season for Rec Baseball is in the spring, with games played from April through June.
During the season, teams can expect to play one game during the week and one game on Saturday. Weekday games start at 6:00 PM, allowing for players and families to enjoy the games after a busy work or school day. Weekend games are played throughout the day, typically between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, giving players and families a chance to enjoy a full day of baseball.
Fall Baseball
We also offer Rec Baseball in the fall, with games played from early September through late October.
The majority of games will be played under the lights on week nights.
Fall Ball offers the chance for our players to keep their skills sharp later into the year and the opportunity for them to play with a wider range of age groups than seen in the Spring.
Location
All of our games are played at Doubleday Fields in Ballston Spa, NY, which offers a beautiful and well-maintained playing field for players and fans alike. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, family-friendly environment for our players and fans to enjoy America's favorite pastime.
Levels of Play
T-Ball
While the Ballston Spa Junior Baseball League does not currently offer T-ball, it can be played in our area through the Ballston Area Recreation Commission (BARC).
Rookie Division
The rookie division is designed for players who are ages 7 to 8. It is an introductory level of play that is intended to provide a fun and positive introduction to the game of baseball. Players will learn the basic skills of the game, such as hitting, fielding, and throwing. The rules are modified to make the game more accessible for younger players including a mixture of coach and player pitching. The focus is on teaching players the fundamental skills of the game and helping them develop a love for baseball.
Minors Division
The minors division is typically for players ages 9 to 10. It is designed to be a step up from the rookie division and is intended to provide a more competitive level of play for players who are ready to take their skills to the next level. In the minors division, players will continue to develop their skills in hitting, fielding, and throwing. The rules are slightly more advanced.
Majors Division
The majors division is typically for players ages 11 to 12. It is designed to be a competitive. Players in this division are expected to have a good understanding of the game and to be able to execute more advanced techniques and strategies.
Senior League
The Senior League is typically for players ages 13 to 15. Players in this division are expected to have a high level of skill and a strong commitment to the game. Full baseball rules are in effect. This division is a great opportunity for players to develop their skills and showcase their abilities to potentially advance to higher levels of play.
Note: Age cut off is based on birthdates before May 1st. Any desire to play in a different age group must be approved by the Junior Rec Baseball Director.
